Importance of Media in Different Aspects of Life

BY- HIMANSHI SHARMA
The media affects our society greatly and is a part of our daily life. The importance of media is increasing daily as a result of the world's high level of feeling connected. Because of this, it's important that we all understand the media's influence. This enables us to evaluate every piece of information we get every day. It is important to remember that the media not only reports events, but also presents its own viewpoints on each one. It is our responsibility to evaluate the data we are given and come to our own decisions. THE IMPORTANCE OF MEDIA IN OUR LIFE 1. BE AWARE OF REALITY: We receive news about events in the nation and across the world from a variety of media. With the help of knowledge, we are better able to stay in touch with reality, understand the world around us, and of course, understand the dire circumstances of others. We establish our own judgements on many subjects and ideas by analysing the information we are given. Our personality gets boosted by that mental workout since we hold to some ideas and reject others. What matters is how gently our viewpoints and attitudes mature while respecting people who hold different opinions. 2. BUILDING A NEW REALITY: The public's preferences or the media's own desires for communication guide the creation of its material, respectively. The success that it achieves influences how long a piece of media material, like a television show, continues to exist. Thus, if a singing competition wins and makes a lot of money, a number of TV programmes with similar formats will follow. As a result, many individuals will be drawn to engage in such efforts, serving as an example for those seeking fame. This has led to the emergence of a brand-new world where appearing in a televised talent competition may lead to rapid fame. THE IMPORTANCE OF MEDIA IN EDUCATION 1. DEVELOPING CRITICAL SENSE: The media plays an essential role to education because it develops in kids and teens a sense of critical thinking. We have a wide range of alternatives to pick from on radio, television, and the internet. It should be focused that communication methods frequently establish genetic traits. They influence each person to select one over the other. Because of this, it's crucial that parents and instructors help kids and teens develop strong personalities. In this way, they make decisions based on their own beliefs. 2. KNOWLEDGE CONTRIBUTION: The media educates people on a wide range of issues due to its immense power. This helps to bring children and teens closer to diverse sources of knowledge and generate curiosity about what they wish to study. Teachers should help students in doing a thorough analysis of the information sources they use. This will enable them to distinguish between the good, average, and poor quality of the data they get. Remember that a child's current passion may serve as an inspiration for their future career. THE IMPORTANCE OF MEDIA IN OUR SOCIETY 1. THEY DETERMINE OUR PLACE IN THE WORLD: The media has a major effect on society. They let others know what's going on. It influences people's life through shaping their own standards and viewpoints. The media influences the public in this way, sparking various social movements. Each individual in society reveals the upcoming changes in turn. The media, in addition to responding to individuals who fail to execute their jobs, plays a critical role in revealing different social issues from which many solutions might be drawn. Organizations in multiple levels of government get evaluated in this way based on their performance. 2. PROMOTE MASSIVE CHANGE: Without a doubt, the media cover all of the changes that occur for the general public. People's methods of self-information have changed over time, with some media being preferred and others being ignored. The media has seen several significant changes recently, one of which is the rising popularity of social networking. Other behaviours involve communicating with other users, developing viewpoints, and establishing trends. CONCLUSION The significance of the media requires a tough mental workout in critical examination. We receive a tonne of information daily on a wide range of subjects. In order to prevent our thinking from being skewed in favour of the interests of other people, it is our responsibility to critically evaluate the information we receive. This education starts in childhood and continues throughout adulthood.
